Tebogo Kgobokoe Training College
“Developing Dance Teachers for the Nation”
THE FOUNDING HISTORY OF TK Training College
Tebogo Kgobokoe Training College (TKTC) is founded on the vision of the Dance Queen of Africa, Ms Tebogo Kgobokoe, who rose from being a young traditional dancer in the North-West Province of South Africa to a status-symbol as an acclaimed World Professional Champion, coach, adjudicator and successful business woman in the Arts. Armed with a Bachelor of Business Administration the holistically talented Ms Tebogo Kgobokoe has excelled in the entertainment and sports sector. She remains the undefeated South African Professional Ballroom champion and seven-times Latin American Champion. She has competed and adjudicated world-wide in the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, the USA, Holland, Hong Kong, France, Switzerland, and many other countries. She ultimately attained the 6th finalist position in the World Professional Latin category in 2005. Ms Tebogo Kgobokoe became the youngest-ever qualified South African Dance Coach and international Adjudicator, at the tender age of 16. Currently in the local dance fraternity, Ms Tebogo Kgobokoe is serving as one of South Africa’s top choreographers, while coaching some of the country’s top professional and amateur dancers. She works with over 82 different companies. She is a qualified facilitator in the Sports, Arts and Culture sector and a qualified general moderator and assessor.
Located in the quaint town of Hartbeespoort in the North West Province of South Africa, the Institution offers compulsory residence. The reason for this being the stringent schedule which runs concurrently with the Tebogo Kgobokoe Arts Academy (TKAA), allowing students to give undivided attention to their studies. Hartbeespoort is a resort town with a quiet and tranquil ambience afforded by its scenic dam. Students will be afforded as little distraction as possible but are able to visit neighbouring Gauteng Province for theatre viewings and performances.
TK Training College values social and cultural diversity and seeks to promote equality of opportunity and respect amongst and between all its members and others. The Institution has committed to ensuring everyone is given equal access to opportunities, and is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of age, gender, disability, long-term health challenges, learning difficulties and disabilities, religion or belief, or sexual orientation. The institution aims to provide an environment that encourages everyone to participate in learning, and it actively combats discrimination and abuse of woman.
The TK Training College is committed to providing the highest standards of Dance Education and Training, coupled with a diploma in Business Management and Administration, through our international link, Cambridge College. The college takes pride in its philosophy of academic excellence, combined with practical orientation and a focus on holistic personal wellbeing. The prime objective of the Tebogo Kgobokoe Training College is to deliver recognised dance education and training aimed at enhancing sustainable career opportunities for its graduates. Upon completion of the prescribed scope of study, graduates are awarded with a dual Dance, Management and Administration qualification.
